Around each holiday, I like to check out the seasonal section of my local craft store for fun wooden pieces to alter, like the hearts and container I used here. With just a few simple supplies, you can create a table centerpiece perfect for any occasion. I think my little Valentine box will add a touch of cheer to my entry table, come Valentine’s day.

To get started, trace each side of your container onto patterned paper and trim out. Use a craft hobby blade to cut out the handle openings. Cover your container with strong adhesive and add the paper cut outs. Sand the edges and swipe with light pink ink.

Affix ribbon around the center of your box using ribbon adhesive and tie ends into a bow. Cut a label from one of the journaling cards and add it to the center of the box using foam adhesive for dimension.

Embellish with a flower created from scalloped circle punches and a metal setting made from the Round 14 Bubble Caps and Round 14 Silver Metal Settings. Add a button made with the Round 14 Button Studio Tool and Round 14 Button Caps to the seam binding bow. Tuck some leaves into the side of the flower.

Cover the front of the wooden hearts with patterned paper. Paint the sides and back white and edge with the pink ink. Embellish with cardstock stickers, banner strips, and Epiphany Crafts Bubble Caps.
