Our Hexagon Epiphany Crafts Tool is… Well.. Swell!!

I love the new hexagon shape! It’s now my go-to tool for creating embellishments for my more masculine layouts.

This page, about my son and his friend, is just filled with my favorite masculine elements – bold stripes, triangles, a muted color palette, and hexagons!

1 with sig and border

The angles of the hexagons are so fun to play with. As you can see, I made each hexagon so that a flat edge would rest against whatever part of the layout I was attaching it to. For example, this hexagon is flat up against my photo mat.

2 with border

This hexagon “stands” on the wood veneer embellishment, so the bottom is flat.

3 with border

I did the same thing with the hexagon above my photo. Orienting my hexagons this way makes them connect to the content of my page in an eye-pleasing way.

4 with border

If you haven’t picked up the hexagon tool, you really should! With all the trendy angles in scrapbooking these days, this is a shape you will use again and again.

A Special Mother’s Day Gift

Over the past few years, it has become a tradition that I make flower brooches for my mom and mother-in-law for Mother’s Day.

This year’s corsages wouldn’t be complete without Epiphany Crafts!

1 with border and sig

To make this corsage, first make or purchase a large, ruffly flower. Use the oval tool to create an epoxy and set it in an oval setting. I chose to spray-paint my setting gold, but the original silver is very pretty, too. Attach the oval to the center of your flower.

3 with border

Make or purchase a fabric yo-yo flower. Use the round 14 tool to create an epoxy, then set it in a brad setting. Again, I spray-painted my brad gold. Attach brad to center of yo-yo.

2 with border

Layer your flowers on a strip of ribbon, adding any other flowers, leaves or embellishments you would like. Adhere everything securely together. I use my trusty hot glue gun for this. When finished, attach a brooch pin/clip to the back side.

4 with border

Happy Mother’s Day!

Step Out in Style with American Crafts

Recently, a student of mine gave me a gorgeous bouquet of hot pink roses.

To say thank you, I wanted to make her something special. So, I combined two of my favorite new releases – Epiphany Crafts’ Rhinestone Charms and American Crafts’ Lucky Charm collection!

1 with border and sig

Create an epoxy using the Round 25 tool and a Lucky Charm floral print. Adhere the epoxy to the round Rhinestone Charm. Bead a necklace using coordinating beads, then add the charm to the necklace.

2 with border

I hope my student loves her necklace. She has a “thing for bling”, so these new charms are right up her alley and I am sure she will love the pretty flowers on the Lucky Charm paper.

Create Unique Wall Decor with our Round Tool

I love using the round tool to create accents for home decor projects. Their size and shape are easy to work with, and I like the way light reflects off of the bubble caps. When I was creating another “B” monogram for my living room wall, I turned to the round tool to make the perfect embellishments.

1 with border and sig

I kept my flowers neutral and brought in color with the round tool and a pretty yellow floral paper.

2 with border

I let the epoxies peek out from behind the larger flowers.

3 with border

To create your own “B” monogram like this, paint a wooden letter in an antique white color. Distress the paint once dry. Using Mod Podge and book paper, attach pieces of torn pages in a random pattern. Next, tear pieces of sewing pattern paper and adhere with Mod Podge. Once dry, embellish with flowers and Epiphany Crafts round epoxies.

4 with border

Here is what the “B” looks like on my wall. Thanks to Epiphany Crafts for making tools that make my home decor projects shine!

Fabric Spring Flowers and Sweet Easter Bunnies

If you’re in need of a sweet Easter basket, look at some of the small boxes you might have laying around or holding things. Dressing one up with some Epiphany Crafts goodies will bring it new life!

I upcycled an empty stationery box to make this little Easter basket. The box was already covered in springy orange stripes, so all it needed was a few embellishments.

user posted image

I used the Epiphany Crafts round 14 tool to create a center for my fabric flower. I love the green on green!

user posted image

I also added a tag and pink paper grass. Of course, the box needed to be filled with one of my favorite Easter treats – Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs!

We’ve Teamed Up with Bella Blvd This Week!!!

Guess what? We’re excited! This week has been a long time in the making and we’re tickled to finally pair up with Bella Blvd and their fun products!  Join us all this week as we showcase projects using Bella Blvd along with all your favorite Epiphany Crafts Tools and More!

And do be sure to visit their blog for more projects from their talented team of designers too!

Kicking off this week…Christina Hereen and Tessa Buys….

I love Bella Blvd products and I am so excited that Epiphany Crafts has teamed up with them this week. For my Bella Blvd project I made this cute owl gift box and note card set.

user posted image

I started with Lori Whitlock’s Owl Tote Box file and cut it on my Silhouette Cameo. I used the Bella Blvd Kiss Me collection papers to add layers to the front of the box and the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool and bubble caps to add a bit of dimension to the owl’s eyes.

user posted image

Using the die-cuts and journaling cards from the collection made these note cards super simple and easy to put together. I used some smaller heart punches and the Epiphany Crafts Heart 25 tool to finish off each of the cards.

Here is a closer look at each of the cards.

The mustache and heart patterned paper inspired me to create a mini album of my boys. They posed for the camera with mustaches on a stick and thoughtful expressions, then answered this question: What do you love?

user posted image

I used paper bags as the base of my album. Opposite each photo is a pocket page. To top the pocket (and embellish the cover), I created yarn-wrapped mustaches adorned with Epiphany Crafts hearts.

user posted image

To make the mustaches, I cut mustache shapes with my Silhouette Cameo, then covered them in adhesive. Next, I carefully wrapped the mustaches with yarn, then added the heart shapes.

user posted image

The circle patterned paper inspired me to use the circle tool and vintage settings as embellishments, too. I loved working with this line and being able to add the Epiphany Crafts heart with a touch of boyish charm.

I took inspiration from the clustered circles to create this layout:

My photos didn’t call for the bright colors of the inspiration pin, but that delicious color palette is saved for future use! I used the button tool in both sizes, as well as the circle tool in both sizes.

I added the flower shape, too. To fill in smaller spaces, I used mist, punches, rhinestones and sequins.

Make Every Day a Celebration

We’re celebrating…celebration.

Be they simple and small…large and elaborate or even just every day moments..it’s important to celebrate!

Today Designer Tessa Buys kicks off our week with a beautiful layout celebrating sisters and birthdays…and Epiphany Crafts too!

My layout celebrates my sister’s birthday.

We were on a vacation together in San Diego and on her birthday we went to the San Diego zoo.

We took a tour of the park and the driver sang his own version of Happy Birthday to her. I wanted to document that funny story and Epiphany Crafts tools were just what I needed for a festive page.

user posted image

I used the pennant tool in an unconventional way. I snipped off the corners of the flat end to create arrows. The pennant arrows lead to my title and then to my journaling.

There’s Still Time for One More Quick Gift Idea!

I made this bracelet in about 20 minutes, so even if you don’t have much time, you can still make something cute and personalized for gift-giving!

user posted image

First, I made the felt and ribbon bow. Any kind of bow will work, so long as you can slip chain through the loops.

user posted image

Next, secure each side of chain with a jump ring, then attach a clasp to one side.

user posted image

Stamp an initial on a piece of cardstock, then use your Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tools to create a monogram circle charm. Add the charm to the bracelet clasp.

Wrap It Up Right with Epiphany Crafts!

We’re back this week with more ideas for gift wrap and more using our Epiphany Crafts Tools and Embellishments!

We invited Guest Designer Kate Vickers to join us! Wait till you see the cute projects she has to share with you!

user posted image

To take the hassle out of coordinating cards and packaging for holiday gifts this year, I decided to design one tag that could be easily duplicated and adhered to a card or clipped to a gift bag.

I layered various washi tapes onto large shipping tags to create tree branches. The Epiphany Crafts star tool was perfect for topping my little Christmas trees! I wanted the pattern of the stars to be the same as my gold star washi tape, so I stuck some tape down to a scrap piece of white cardstock and continued as usual, just like my washi/cardstock was patterned paper. It worked beautifully!

user posted image

To create the card, I layered patterned papers and topped the card with a tag. To embellish the gift bag, I simply clipped the tag on.

user posted image

For a fun touch, I coordinated my tissue paper to the colors and patterns of my washi tape. The Epiphany Crafts stars are my favorite part, though!

Hi everyone! It’s Kate Vickers.

I’m very pleased to be a guest designer for Epiphany Crafts this week. I found these super cute mason jar style drinking glasses and thought that they would make excellent teacher gifts. They would also make great hostess gifts for all of those holiday parties.

I put “Grinch poop”, “reindeer noses” and “snowman poop” in each of the glasses. (Don’t worry, no reindeer were hurt during the creation of this craft! It’s just pretend, ok?). Then I added Maya Road trim around the edge of each of the glasses. I left the trim on the taller glasses in their original colour. The trim on the mug was misted with Red Dylusions mist. I punched out 3 circles from Crate Paper’s Sleigh Ride collection to add to the tops of the mason jar lids. I embellished with more ribbon and Epiphany Crafts Oval 25 with metal charms and Round 25.

Epiphany-Grinch-Snowman-Reindeer

Here is a close up of the “Grinch poop” glass. The “Grinch poop” is actually mint chocolate balls that I got from my local bulk food store. They are so yummy! I created the Merry Christmas image myself. It’s available for download by clicking on the image at the bottom.

Epiphany-close-up-3

Here’s a close up of the ‘snowman poop’ glass. These are actually Scotch Mints. This glass has the most amount of trim on it. I used 3 different ribbons here.

Epiphany-close-up-2

Last, but not least, the “reindeer noses”. The red nose is a red gumball and the brown ones are chocolate caramel balls. The reindeer featured in the Oval 25 is from one of the papers in Crate’s Sleigh Ride Collection.

Epiphany-close-up-1

I created this free printable for the Round 25 Tool and the Oval 25 tool (for personal use only). The colours coordinate well with a lot the Christmas papers currently out. I hope that you enjoy it! Click on the image to download the file in JPG format.
