Craft in Style with Epiphany Crafts and The Robin’s Nest

Hang onto your seats today!

Not only do we have one incredible project but we have three! Talented Designers Natt Smith, Lisa Wilkinson and Christine Ousley each have unique projects that we think you’re going to love today!

We loved how Christine used our Scallop Tool and Bubble Cap to create the perfect centerpiece for her card…don’t you?

I love making cards because I feel like I can really embellish them. I really dressed up this card with some glass Dew Drops and a Scalloped Circle Embellishment using my Epiphany Crafts Studio Tool

user posted image

I first cut some background paper from The Robin’s Nest. I wanted to pull the yellow’s and blue’s into the rest of the card, so I cut out a doily with my Silhouette using a file from Lori Whitlock and then embellished it with tiny Dew Drops in blue and Raindrops in white from The Robin’s Nest. I love the sparkle that it added to my card. I also inked the edges with Weathered Wood Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

user posted image

Then I cut out a 3D flower from another digital die cut file from Lori Whitlock and paper from The Robin’s Nest. I inked all of the pieces with Weathered Wood and Mustard Seed Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

The focal point is my favorite and really ties it all together. I punched out a piece of the patterned paper in just the right place using my Epiphany Crafts Scalloped Round Studio Tool and capped it with a clear bubble top.

Try adding some dimension to your next card. It’s really fun and really makes an impact.

Hello everyone! Today I have a fun card to share with you !
This week we are doing something fun with Robin’s Nest scrapbooking supplies.

It took me a while to think of what I could do with all the cute dewdrop in a bottle. I decided on using diamond shape dew drops to add some accent into a card.

Supplies list.

- Epiphany Crafts star tools
- Epiphany Crafts star epoxy
- Robins nest white and clear dewdrop diamond shape.
- Pattern papers
- Silhouette diecut machine.

user posted image

On this card I decide to use a lot of pattern paper without breaking them by plain paper. It might look a bit busy but that’s the keys to make they have more details on a simple card.

All I did with this card was cover card base with dark blue pattern paper.

Then adhere diecut sheet that I cut out onto it with foam adhesive.

Add stripe of glue on top right of a card and the arrange dew drop diamond shape on to it by clear and pearl.

here is the final look !

On the inside cover both the scalloped circle tool and epoxy were used with the Robin’s Nest teardrops to create a decorated pinwheel.

On this spread the Shimmer Diamonds fit so nicely into the cut file that was used, the little scalloped circle finished this design off perfectly!

Sweet Spring Treats with The Robin’s Nest

Robins nest logo

Welcome to a new week!

We’re pairing up for the first time with our friends at The Robin’s Nest!

Well known for their beautiful Dew Drops!!

Designers Tessa Buys and Christina Hereen kick off this week…

I love the Robin’s Nest tear drops. I thought the green tear drops made perfect flower leaves, so I created a trio of spring-themed cards complete with an Epiphany Crafts center.

First, cut book pages to size. Using a highly pigmented white ink (or watered down acrylic paint), paint flower petals onto book pages. Allow to dry. In the meantime, create round 14 epoxies using book pages and Epiphany Crafts tools. Next, use a pen to outline the petals and draw the stem. Attach epoxy centers and Robin’s Nest leaves using Diamond Glaze or a similar product. Adhere book page to card.

Hello, it’s Christina here to share my project using Robin’s Nest and, of course, Epiphany Crafts.

I used the Purse file from the Silhouette store to cut the treat bag from Robin’s Nest patterned paper and added a closure using Epiphany Crafts tools. To create a closure for the treat bag, start by punching a circle using the Round 14 Tool and Robin’s Nest paper.

user posted image

Remove the prongs from an Epiphany Crafts brad setting and adhere a magnet to the back of the brad.

user posted image

Adhere the brad setting to the front of the flap of the treat bag.

user posted image

Adhere a second magnet to the front of the treat bag and you have a quick and easy closure.

user posted image

I filled small glassine bags with tea bags and homeade treats and added them to the treat bag. This is a quick and fun way to send someone a warm surprise on a rainy day.

To make this project start by cutting two 4×12 inch strips from white cardstock.

user posted image

Score the cardstock at 3, 6, and 9 inches along the 12 inch side of the cardstock.

user posted image

Fold along all of the score lines.

user posted image

Add adhesive to one of the end panels of the first strip and adhere it the end panel of the second strip. Be sure your strips are lined up as shown below and the zig zag patterns continues across the two strips when adhered together.

user posted image

Use a paper piercing tool to poke small holes at each fold line about 3/4 of an inch from the top of the display.

Epiphany Crafts with a Cherry on Top!

Hi there!
Cherry here to share my Pinterest inspired project with you today!
I was inspired by this cute pic…I was drawn to the fabric and the sweet cherry on top.
I decided to create a mini pincushion of sorts using fabric and chipboard for my backing.
Wouldn’t this make a cute Valentine gift for someone special or display in your craft room.

fabric- joanns

1) Gather supplies
2) Adhere adhesive backing to fabric (it will help it stay smooth with no wrinkles).
3) Cut decorative edging with pinking shears
4) use diecut to cut cherry stems and leaves (if you do not have diecut you could easily freehand).
5) Cut two labels from diecut (for front and back)
6) Start whip stitching almost all the way around, leaving space to stuff with fiberfill. Finish stitching .
7)  Adhere your “cherries”( use Epiphany tool and size 14 bubblecaps) , stems, and leaves.
8) Paint your chipboard red and adhere your fabric and stitch all the way around.
9) Adhere your “pincushion” to chipboard.
10) Pull ribbon through and tie bows.
11) Embellish your stick pins using charms, pearls, and Epiphany epoxies.  I used the pendant to create a mini banner.

Pinterest is one of my favorite sources of inspiration and I love being able to browse hundreds of amazing ideas all in one place. Today I want to share a Tree Photo Display I made inspired by a simple craft for children I found on Pinterest.

user posted image

user posted image

I based my project based off this Fall Paper Bag Tree that can be found HERE on Pinterest.

user posted image

To make the tree display start by gathering three white paper bags. Working at the open end of the bag cut strips about half an inch wide and about half the length of the bag.

user posted image

Open one of the three bags. Hold onto the bottom of the bag and twist the middle section of the bag to form the tree trunk.

user posted image

To form the branches of the tree gather and twist 2 or 3 of the strips together. Continue until all of the strips have been twisted into branches.

user posted image

Leave the two remaining bags closed, but move the bottom flap so that the bag forms a “T” shape. Cut off the top of the “T” shape.

user posted image

Twist the bottom of each of the two bags to form tree trunks.

user posted image

Tuck one of the tree trunks into the tree base and add hot glue to hold in place.

user posted image

Twist the strips together to form branches.

user posted image

Repeat with the remaining tree trunk and you will have a completed tree. At this point you can adjust the branches of your tree. You can also add the tree to a small square frame with a 4×4 inch opening for a sturdier base.

user posted image

Now that the tree is complete you can decorate your tree using favorite photos and Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tools to create a fun way to display your photos.

Celebrate Today with Epiphany Crafts!

As we start to unwind from all the excitement of CHA we are still finding plenty of ways to celebrate with Epiphany Crafts!

Today I want to share a couple of photo birthday cards I created using the pennant tool. My daughter’s birthday is next month and the photo cards will be a fun way for her to look back and reflect on how much she has grown.

user posted image

Celebrate Today Photo Card

user posted image

To create the card start with a 4.25 x 5.5 inch standard card base. Die cut a polaroid frame using the Silhouette or any other die cut machine you own. If you have a Silhouette machine you can download the Celebrate Polaroid Frame file I created for this card. Cut and adhere a small strip of patterned paper behind the word celebrate. Die cut or punch the word today from patterned paper and save the letters to use on another project. Use the Epiphany Crafts Pennant tool and bubble caps to punch around the negative space of each letter. Wrap twine around the bottom of the frame and adhere the letters to form a banner. Add a 3 x 3 photo to the back of the frame. Once you have added your photo and any additional embellishments mount the frame to the card base using dimensional adhesive.

user posted image

Click HERE to download the file.

user posted image

Since this is a photo card you could die cut a paper easel and adhere it to the back of the card. This easel die cut using the Sizzix Small Easel Die will fold flat to send in the mail and allow the recipient to easily display the photo card if they choose.

Celebrate You Photo Card

user posted image

The polaroid frame on this card was created the same way as first card with the addition of two small punched hearts around the pennant letters.

user posted image

Instead of adding an easel to the back of the card you can also turn the polaroid frame into a magnet. To do this you need to die cut the the solid rectangle shape found in the provided file or you can cut your own to match the shape of any polaroid frame you choose to use. Run the rectangle shaped piece through the Xyron 5″ Creative Station with the magnet cartridge or add magnet tape to the back of the shape. Decorate the polaroid frame as desired and adhere to the rectangle magnet base. Open the card base and adhere strips of magnet tape to the left side as shown above and cover with an additional piece of cardstock for a finished look.

user posted image

Now the polaroid frame will will stay attached to the front of the card and the recipient can slip the polaroid frame off the card and add it to the refrigerator or any other place they would like to display the frame.

Celebrate A Birthday with Epiphany Crafts

Happy New year to you all!!

It’s Designer Cherry Nelson!

We were challenged here at Epiphany Crafts to create something with a celebration theme using the pennant shapes. I love them ….so many different things you can do with them. While I love banners I wanted to do something a little different so I used mine to create mini pendants on a birthday card. I wanted them to be the main focal point so I created a frame to give them more importance.

ribbons/lace- Really reasonable ribbon

I covered mine in felt….first giving it a bit of detail by sewing little x’s by hand on each corner. I added glitter to the top of the frame and than added an acetate graph diecut to the back side. I also added a bit of sewn tulle to the bottom of the frame.

My next step was to add pattern papers to my card and stamp my sentiment to the bottom right side. I than adhered my frame and started adding my adorable pendants. I added a couple of little 3d clouds and some ribbons. I wanted it to look like the pendants were popping up from the clouds so to speak.

Other than that I added a little mini stamped tag “party time” to the ribbons and my card was complete!

Perfect birthday card for just about anyone! Whimsical, fun, and definintly a card of celebration!

Thanks for letting me share. cherry

Then adhere on top of the pattern paper.

Added Epiphany Crafts pennant epoxy that I use on colorful chevron paper pattern.

Here’s the complete look.

Hi, Fleur here. CHA is kicking off this weekend and I am so excited, I love this time of year! Let’s Celebrate!

For me this time of year I start thinking about birthday’s. My son and I share a birthday in February and I love making special birthday party decor and cards for his party.

user posted image

First off I created a birthday card using the Pennant 25 Shape Studio Tool and the coordinating bubble caps. I used some small letter stickers and spelled out PARTY for the banner along the top.

user posted image

To create a fun border along the bottom I used the Pennant 25 Shape Studio Tool and made a chevron style border by layering the pennant shapes on top of one another.

For some fun party decorations I made some pinwheels and created a fun centre for them using the Pennant 25 Shape Studio Tool and the Scalloped Circle 25 Shape Studio Tool.
