Epiphany Crafts Banner Bubble Caps

Other Supplies;
Maya Road Mini Album
Maya Road Flowers
Papers, Die-cuts, Brads: Studio Calico Heyday Collection
Washi Tape: MT tapes

I had the opportunity to work with this fabulous, three-ring, Maya Road mini album, which I dedicated to my upcoming birthday/anniversary trip.

I embellished the cover with Maya Road flowers, die-cuts, and Epiphany Crafts vintage settings.

I wanted the fresh, bright and festive feel to carry over to the inside pages, so I started page one with an Epiphany Crafts banner. I didn’t want the individual banner pieces to be attached to the page, so I discovered this way to string them:

user posted image

First, gather together your supplies: the banner tool and bubble caps, a tiny hole punch (this one is by Martha Stewart Crafts), paper, thread and a needle.

user posted image

Create your banner piece using your paper, the tool and a bubble cap.

user posted image

Next, punch two holes in the corners of the banner piece. Tips: Don’t squeeze too hard with your hole punch or you risk indenting the bubble cap around the hole with the shape of your punch. Wiggle the banner gently to remove it from the punch. Don’t punch too closely to the edge or the bubble cap may crack. If you don’t have a tiny hole punch, a thick needle will work – just poke the hole over a self-healing mat and give it a good dose of elbow grease.

user posted image

Next, thread your needle and tie a bow at the end of your string. Begin threading your banner pieces on and finish with a bow at the opposite end.

user posted image

Adhere to your project with strong glue behind the bows.

After our trip I will fill these pages, as well as inserts that I have set aside, with instagram photos and memorabilia. Watch my blog for the completed album.

Epiphany Crafts Round 14 bubble caps
Epiphany Crafts Round 14 silver setting

Other supplies:
Tombow Mono Vellum Adhesive
Scrapbook Circle August kit
Rhinestone Stickers: Jolee’s
Glitter: Pink Paislee

Inspired by the Epiphany Crafts silver setting that I used as my main embellishment, I decided that I wanted to add a bit of shine to my page with silver glitter. I used the Tombow Mono Vellum adhesive runner to stick my sparkles. The clear property of this particular adhesive was great for this application because I couldn’t see the glue in the spots that I didn’t add as much glitter to – just the look I was going for!

I love the way the sparkle from the silver glitter shines like the silver setting. Scattered rhinestones and more round bubble caps finish it off.

This layout was made almost entirely with scraps!! That’s the beauty of the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studios — small bits of paper can be transformed into chic, polished embellishments in minutes. The Round 14 shapes on this layout are all created from the packaging of the Heidi Swapp paper pack I used — even the words are from the packaging! Anything that will fit into the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studios can be made into an affordable yet modern & sleek embellie.

Sometimes it is just difficult, down right impossible, to find the perfect embellishment. I recently took a road trip to Texas with my kids and we stopped at this place called “Health Camp” for burgers and fries. Only in Texas, right?! So of course I had to scrap the event but I have NO Texas themed anything in my scrap room and I am not about to buy dies and stamps and what not for one little trip.

I did the next best thing–I did a google image search for maps of the town Health Camp was in (Waco, TX) and found tons of images! I saved them to my harddrive and then printed them out in index size using my printer. I then used the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio and Bubble Caps to make custom embellies, specifically for MY trip, to use on my page. Easy peasy and much more affordable than buying up a bunch of Texas themed stickers. And, the “Texas” touches are subtle, making my design mostly about the Health Camp.

Holy cow! Aren’t these colors fabulous? I sewed some double sided ribbon to the cover to make a bow closure. So perfect for a summer travel album!

The little ladybugs are made using Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Round 14 Tool and matching bubble caps. I drew a line and dots on some paper and then made the embellishment. The head is a regular ol’ paper punch with a couple of white dots. So easy!

Disneyland Album by Designer Jennifer Priest

Isn’t it difficult to scrap for teens, tweens, and whatchamacallits? Yeah. Sigh. Spoken by the mother of a 13 year old.

My daughter went to Disneyland for Girl Scouts and I thought TWINE is a great way to make a cute book for her about her trip. Twine and neon. Yay. Yay? I am not sure I like the whole 80′s thing coming back BUT it was pretty easy to make custom embellishments with my Epiphany Crafts shape tools to match the Heidi Swapp Neon stickers I got for the book. And black and white are always a winner!!!!!!

I made a little video showing how I did all that I did — enjoy! I also added gorgeous blinged out Connie Crystals to the spine of the book and a couple small Want2Scrapcrystals to make mickey heads on my Square 25 Epiphany Crafts charms. Easy peasy!
