Note to Self: Use Xyron Products Often!

Hi everyone!

It’s Kate Vickers here today, and I’m sharing this cute little chalkboard that I created with Epiphany Crafts and Xyron Adhesives.

I started off by wandering around my local Michael’s store wondering what I could make to help remind myself about my ‘to do’ list. I came across a black metal plaque in the dollar area. It had a very large sticker on it with a heart that peeled off really easily. Underneath was a plain metal chalkboard that I put inside of a regular 8 X 8 photo frame.  Because it’s metal, it’s also great for magnets.

Note-to-Self-Chalkboard-Kate-Vickers

I created custom magnets by using the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 Tool with the Round 25 Metal Charms. I cut off the ring at the top of the charm with a pair of pliers, then I used the Round 25 Tool and Bubble Caps to create the top for the magnets. I glued the completed bubble caps to the metal charm base using the Xyron Mega Runner.

Note-to-Self-Chalkboard-Kate-Vickers-Step-1

I added Xyron Magnet Tape to the back of the metal charms to create magnets. The Magnet Tape is incredibly easy to use. It tears very easily and yet it’s strong enough to hold a good sized item.

I added several die cut flowers and butterflies from American Crafts to the frame. I accented some of the flowers with the Epiphany Crafts Flower 25 Tool.

Here’s a close up of the completed magnets.

Finally, here’s a close up of the top of the frame. I love the addition of the Flower 25 Bubble Caps to the centers of the American Crafts flowers. It really finishes them off nicely.

Note-to-Self-Chalkboard-Kate-Vickers-close-up-2

I placed my little magnet / chalk board by my front door to remind our family of important appointments and activities. Hopefully it will help us keep on track of our busy schedules.

Thanks for visiting! Have a wonderful day!

Hello!  It is Malika blogging today.  I want to share with you a little notepad that I put together using some of Xyron’s amazing magnetic tape and an Epiphany Crafts embellishment of course!

This is a simple project to make and would make a great little thank you gift.  Make a bunch of them and keep them on hand for those times you need to have a little something to give!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For this project, gather some paper for the folder (I used a cameo cut file for mine), a die cut flower, paper for the pad, some twine, Mod Podge, an Epiphany Crafts bubble circle and a brad setting, and Xyron’s magnetic tape.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Gently curl up the petals of the die cut flower.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Unstack the flower and cover each layer with Mod Podge.  This gives the flower a little more durability.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Once the layers have dried, stack them back up and put the Epiphany Crafts brad through the center to hold the layers together.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Assemble the inside papers, punch two holes at the top and use some twine to secure the paper to the die cut folder.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Add two strips of the Xyron magnetic tape along the inside flap of the folder.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is a little trick to match up exactly where to put the magnetic tape on opposite side of the folder.  Let the second set of magnetic strips stick to the already adhered pieces.  Then close the folder and the sticky back of the new magnetic tape will adhere to the correct place!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Close the folder…

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And the magnetic tape is in the right place.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Finally, push the brad (center of the flower) through the middle part of the flap of the folder.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

And there is the finished project!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Give it a try!

Organize in Style with Epiphany Crafts and American Crafts

Hello! It’s Christina here to share my project using Epiphany Crafts and the American Crafts Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection.

I put together this storage unit and added a few scrapbooking goodies to the drawers for my oldest daughter.

1

To make this project start with a KaiserCraft Storage Unit kit, paint all the pieces white, and assemble the unit and drawers.

5

We will need some knobs to open the drawers. Using the Epiphany Crafts Oval 25 Studio Shape Tool punch 3 ovals from patterned papers of your choice.

13

Add an Epiphany Crafts Oval 25 Bubble Cap to each of the punched oval shapes.

12

Add each of the shapes to an Epiphany Crafts Oval Metal Setting as shown below. Paint 3 small wooden discs white and adhere to the back of each of the metal settings.

14

Trim patterned papers to fit the front of the drawers and apply adhesive to each strip.

15

Adhere the patterned papers and knobs to the front of the drawers.

16

Now let’s take a peek inside each of the drawers. I made two small mini albums to fit inside one of the drawers. All my daughter has to do is add some favorite photos, journaling, and any additional embellishments she might want to add to the albums.

3

In another drawer I made some simple paper dividers and added an assortment of embellishments- tags, die cuts, punched shapes, and a brad set.

2

In the last drawer I added a few treats. Who doesn’t like to have a bit of chocolate on hand while crafting, lol.

4

I put two quick and simple albums together for the first drawer. The first of these albums is an accordian tag album. I created my own files in the Silhouette Studio software and cut them with my Cameo. On this side of the album I incorporated a pocket for photos and journaling tags.

6

7

The last page on this side of the album is a matchbook style tag that holds additional tags for photos and journaling.

8

I also made this tag album and added a ring to hold it all together. I also created my own files for this album and cut them with my Silhouette.

9

Here is a look at all of the pages in the album.

10

Here is a look at the two tags that open to reveal additional places to add photos and journaling.

To create it I used two pieces of patterned paper measuring 4″ x 12″ and scored them at 4″ and glued the two pieces together to make the base of the album.

Then I cut out the 4″ x 6″ journaling cards from the patterned paper and adhered them onto each of the sides of the album.

I decorated the cover with the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool Square and the Square Metal Charms. I found a sticker on the sheet that was the perfect size to fit into the square charm and attached it with some twine.

I used the stickers from the coordinating sticker sheet to decorate the pages. I also used the Epiphany Crafts Shape Stuido Round 25 and the bubble caps to add the heart to the centre of the wreath.

A Little Fall Decor and a Special Guest

We’re turning to fall this week and bringing you some fall ideas for using your favorite Epiphany Crafts Tools and accessories.

And we have a Guest joining us this week and next! We hope you’ll give Becky Garrison a warm welcome!

Hi there!

I am Becky Garrison, and I am so very excited to be guest designer on the Epiphany Crafts blog today!   I am a huge fan of Epiphany and rarely make a project that does not have some sort of Epiphany product on it somewhere.  For today’s project I made something for your Thanksgiving table, but you could make them for any occasion simply by changing the colors and papers you use.

Place cards had kind of gone out of style until we paper crafters started making them again,  and for the one I made today it is also a cute treat bag.

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:
Epiphany Shape Studio Square 25 Tool
Epiphany Shape Studio Accessories Bubble Caps Square 25
Epiphany Metal Charms Double Square 25

Other Supplies:

KaiserCraft “These Days Collection”
Darice ‘Earthy’ Hemp Cord
Stickles ‘Platinum’

To make the treat bag, cut a piece of patterned paper to 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″.  along the long side, score the paper at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches.  Turn the paper 1/4 turn and score at 2 inches.  At the corner where there are 2 scored lines at 1/2″ and 2″, trim away that corner just outside the scored lines.

On the 2, 4, 6 and 8 inch scores, cut them up to the 2″ score.   Fold on all of the score lines.  Fold the 2, 4, 6 and 8″ scored lines and add some glue to the 1/2″ piece, and glue to the underside of the other edge.  This will make a  square ‘tube’ shape.  Fold each of the 2″ pieces under, adding adhesive to the last one to hold the bag closed.

Decide which side you want for the front, and pinch the two edges together, folding the other two sides in to the center.  Punch holes in the top of the bag.  Place treats inside, and tie together with ribbon.

Print names of your guests onto card stock.  Trim to size and punch one edge with a border punch.  Using coordinating card stock and a 1 1/2″ scalloped punch, punch an accent piece.  Ink edges and add glitter or glitter glue.   Punch a hole in one end of the name tag and top of scalloped circle.

Using the Epiphany Square 25 tool and bubble cap, punch a design from coordinating paper.  Adhere bubble cap to the Epiphany Square 25 Metal Charm.  Layer charm on top of scalloped circle and name tag, and tie together using hemp cord.  Tie this to the bow on the treat bag.

And there you have a very pretty place card for your Thanksgiving table, with a nice treat inside.  Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Set The Perfect Table with Epiphany Crafts

It’s officially fall and that means Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Designer Fleur Smith has a Thanksgiving Table Setting using the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio tool Oval 25, the Bubble Caps Oval 25 and the Metal Charms Oval 25.

It’s perfect for fall or any special event!

user posted image

I love using my paper and scrapbooking supplies for making home decor and gifts, especially around the holidays. For my table setting I made a card for the guests to take home with a message about how thankful we are having them in our lives, a napkin ring and a place setting.

user posted image

user posted image

For the card I added a beautiful accent with the Oval Metal Charms. I used Staz On ink to alter the color of the metal charm to match my project.

user posted image

For the napkin ring I used the Shape Studio Tool Oval 25 as a punch and punched out the oval shapes then used them to create a scallopped ring.

user posted image

For the place setting I used the negative space left over when I punched the oval for the napkin and used it as an accent, filling in the ovals with other pieces of patterned paper.

user posted image

I had so much fun designing this table setting that I created a video to show how I used the Epiphany Crafts Shape tools and metal charms to make these projects. I hope you enjoy it.

We’re Quite Charming Here At Epiphany Crafts

Today Designer Christine Ousley shows how our shows aren’t just to be worn around the neck…look around your home for unique ways to add a bit of charm. Epiphany Crafts charm!

user posted image
So when I was looking at my oval tool and charms, I was thinking jewelry. The charms are so pretty. I could see making a necklace, or bracelet with them, but then an idea popped into my head. Why not jewelry for candles. I have some lovely candles on my mantle in cozy fall colors so why not decorate them.

I had some new Authentique paper and stickers that had colors that matched my candle, so I looked through it all and found a beautiful sticker that was just the right size. What luck! I adhered the sticker to some white card stock and then using my Epiphany Oval Tool 25, I punched it into an oval shape and adhered an Oval 25 Bubble Cap.

user posted image

Then I realized that my charm was silver and really didn’t fit the fall theme, so I grabbed my bottle of Tim Holtz/Ranger Adirondack Mixatives in Gold and changed the silver charm to a gold one. All you have to do is pour some of the liquid onto a foam pad applicator and pat it all over the metal. Then using your heat gun, dry the mixative. The alcohol will evaporate and leave the gold color behind. You might need to do the process again until you have the coverage that you want.

user posted image

Then after my charm was cooled and dry, I attached the oval shape to it with strong adhesive and attached the charm to a jump ring. Then I threaded some antique gold chain and jute through the jump ring along with a crystal bead that I had and tied it together in the back.

If you take a moment or two (or ten) to browse Pinterest…you will find an amazing mix of pins. Tropical destinations, delicious drinks, craft projects, heartthrobs, books to read, hairstyles to try…and the pins go on and on.

What’s truly unique is what we each take away with us from the experience.

The proof is right here. We sent the team off to Pinterest to find an image that inspired them and that they would work off to create this week’s Epiphany Crafts project.

Once again…we’re amazed at their creativity…

Spooky Framed Art by Amanda Coleman

A while ago, I pinned this image of a handmade leather purse (unfortunately no longer available on Etsy). I liked the simplicity and the depth of the color, and I can’t resist trees and scenery. While I am not about to make a leather purse, I had hoped to make some kind of paper craft reminiscent of this image.

Using watercolors, I painted a 5″x7″ piece of watercolor paper using various shades of blue. The moon is made with EC Shape Studio Tool Round 25 and matching bubble cap. I added die cut a silhouette of a tree and the piece was finished!

Disneyland Album by Designer Jennifer Priest

Isn’t it difficult to scrap for teens, tweens, and whatchamacallits? Yeah. Sigh. Spoken by the mother of a 13 year old.

My daughter went to Disneyland for Girl Scouts and I thought TWINE is a great way to make a cute book for her about her trip. Twine and neon. Yay. Yay? I am not sure I like the whole 80′s thing coming back BUT it was pretty easy to make custom embellishments with my Epiphany Crafts shape tools to match the Heidi Swapp Neon stickers I got for the book. And black and white are always a winner!!!!!!

I made a little video showing how I did all that I did — enjoy! I also added gorgeous blinged out Connie Crystals to the spine of the book and a couple small Want2Scrapcrystals to make mickey heads on my Square 25 Epiphany Crafts charms. Easy peasy!
