Just Keep Swimming with Epiphany Crafts!

I’ll admit it….loved the movie Finding Nemo!

And the sweet phrase…just keep swimming!

Sometimes those sweet lines from some of our favorite movies, have a way of penetrating our lives.

Designer Amanda Coleman made this fun project today! Perfect for a wall hanging, maybe a fishy themed kids bath or a back to school teacher gift!

And look how our Round Tool makes just the perfect bubble!

Other Supplies:

Little Yellow Bicycle Splash collection papers
Little Yellow Bicycle vellum tape strips
Jillibean Soup alpha stickers

Designer Notes:
Do you ever freak out a little bit when you see a print that you just love? Well, that’s what happened to me when I saw the chubby, graphic fish in LYB’s Splash collection. It was as though they were just screaming, “Fussy cut me!”. So, that’s what I did.

The same print that had the fish also had bubbles which look just perfect as a custom EC Round 14 embellishment.

And how about that seaweed? It’s as though the fat, little fishies are swimming right through it. I free-hand cut a green chevron LYB vellum tape strip to make the seaweed.

Epiphany Crafts Brings Together Memories with Tombow

Butterfly Frame by Amanda Jones

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:

Epiphany Crafts Pennant and Flower Button tools and bubble caps

Other Supplies:
Tombow adhesives
Vellum, cardstock, white ribbon and mists.

user posted image

I gathered a frame, white cardstock to fit inside, a sheet of white-on-white striped vellum and my Tombow adhesives. I also grabbed 3 glimmer mists – you could substitute these for any inks, stains or mists.

user posted image

I coloured my vellum by spritzing with mists and blended the colour gently with a paper towel. I then punched out several butterfly shapes from the vellum. Spritzing the vellum with mists curles the vellum and gives the buterflies a nice amount of dimension.

user posted image

I mounted the white card inside the frame, and usig the Tombow vellum runner I adhered a group of butterflies in the bottom right corner of the frame.

user posted image

user posted image

Using leftover pieces of vellum I created 3 banner pieces and a flower button using my Epiphany Crafts tools and bubble caps.

user posted image

user posted image

I then adhered a strip of white seam binding to the top left corner of the frame and added a bow on top.

user posted image

Finally I topped the centre of the bow with the button I had created and added my banner pieces below the ribbon.

Just a moment or two browsing through Pinterest and you can find crafts, craft ideas, beautiful images, recipes recipes and recipes…and so much more. It’s truly addictive in the best way!

If you’re new and wondering what all this talk about Pinterest is…it’s an online pin board…picture that big bulletin board you used to have in your room growing up.  And remember all the things you used to tack (pin!) onto it? Clippings from magazines, cool cards, mementos, tickets, hair styles…all that fun stuff. Now jump to 2012 and we have one that we can “pin” to and our friends can see as well. It’s truly eye candy!!

Here are today’s pinned projects and what our talented team came up with!

I fell in love with these household containers made from rope and recycled coffee cans. Not only are they beautiful AND useful, projects like these are earth-friendly, too. My favorite type of projects!

I reduced the size of my project with a smaller can, and added a pretty tag for a container that would work well for organizing household supplies, or would be equally fabulous as a quick gift box. Fill the can with cookies, sweet treats, or even a potted flower for an instant gift.
