Epiphany Crafts..You Are My Sunshine!

As we mentioned this week we have a bit of this and that along with it marking the final week for several of our team!

Today’s project is from Designer Ginny Hughes! We’d like to say another special thank you to Ginny for all of  her  projects she has shared with us over say over these past  6 months.

This card is another one of her fantastic projects…notice how she used our EC Button Round 20 Tool to make the perfect embellishment for this card.It pops against the kraft cardstock layered behind the white negative.

Thanks Ginny…we wish you all the best!

Back to School Pencil Box by Gina Lideros

Back to school in our house always means shopping for new school supplies and pencils. No matter how many pencils I buy at the beginning of the school year they always seem to become misplaced when it comes to needing them for homework. That’s why I created this small little pencil box to keep at home and keep nearby so that is always handy for homework. I’m sure my kids will thank me someday.

Life around my house is crazy this time of year and I need all of the reminders that I can get about what is going on at home and school. Even though I only have 2 kids in school, I still have 3 at home that have activities and appointments as well.

I found this chalkboard in the clearance bin at a local craft store, and as much as I like chickens, neon chickens really aren’t my thing

smile.gif
So I covered the chicken with a sheet of cork board that I got at Wal-Mart.

I glued thumbtacks to the back of the Epiphany Crafts bubble shapes.

I didn’t glue the paper to the corkboard, so I can change it up as often as I like. I love shipping tags for the little notes. I also used a little pocket to stash something small.

How fun is that…you can make thumbtacks easy peasy with our Epiphany Crafts Tools and Bubble Caps! Stop by tomorrow as we continue on our back to school organization week!

Hello Card by Ginny Hughes

other products used-
chipboard-Maya Road
embossing powder-American Crafts Zing
paper-Studio Calico
stamp-Studio Calico
tape-Smash
cardstock-American Crafts

I used embossing powder on the Maya Road chipboard shapes.

I found I got the best coverage if I pressed the chipboard on the Versafine pad, not the other way around. Press hard to make sure you get the whole thing covered really well.

user posted image

Then I sprinkled the embossing powder on the shape. I always do that on top of a sheet of paper, that way it is super easy to slide the unused powder back into the container.

When using a heat tool on a smaller shape it is best to point it straight down or else your shape will get blown all over the place! It takes a little trial and error, but easy to get the hang of it.

Step 1: Gather your supplies. I used two 4 inch strips and one 6 inch strip cut out like a banner.

Step 2: Fold your 2 shorter strips in half, adhere with Tombow adhesive, and crumple up like a bow as shown.

Step 3: Adhere your longer piece with the 2 completed pieces on top like so. Now you can adhere a large flower, etc over the middle to cover your lines.

All the year long it’s in fashion to show your love for your country.

Audrey gives you instructions so you too can whip this up and finish it off with our Epiphany Crafts supplies. Designer Ginny Hughes is back with another amazing layout that comes together with Helmar Adhesives and you guess it…Epiphany Crafts. (no surprise there!lol)

1. Die cut or hand cut various sized stars from a variety of patriotic fabrics and cotton batting. I used templates that I downloaded from the internet for my star shapes. Pin the stars in place and then hand stitch the layers together. Trim around the bottom layer with pinking shears.

user posted image

2. Apply a thin line of Helmar Quick Dry Adhesive around the outline of the center star and add tinsel trim all the way around.

3. Die cut layered circles from felt and cotton batting. Hand stitch the circles together.

4. Ink a chipboard number 4 with red ink. Apply Quick Dry Adhesive to the back and adhere it to the center of the stitched circles. Stitch two cross stitches on the number 4 and then adhere it to the stars using more Quick Dry Adhesive.

user posted image

5. Create a star embellishment using grid patterned paper, the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio Tool and a Star Bubble Cap. Wrap embroidery floss around the star bubble cap and adhere it to the center of the main star using the Quick Dry Adhesive.

6. Stitch the star onto fabric, leaving enough of an opening to stuff with polyfill before stitching closed. Trim around fabric to create the finished pillow.
