This handmade journal was created from chipboard, patterned cardstock and graph paper — along with sayings found on Pinterest that relate to the designer’s One Little Word for 2012: Positivity. The Round 25s serve as tabs for the different sections of the journal and make it easy to flip to the next section. One of the pages is an envelope, and the Round 25 is used as a grip on the insert.

Creative Ways to Use Epiphany Crafts Tools!

All week we’re showcasing one of our most popular tools…the Epiphany Crafts Studio Shape Round 25 Tool.

It’s as essential to you as your scissors and glue!

Today Designers Kelly Jo Massicotte, Gina Lideros and Mandy Koeppen show three more ways you can get a bang out of this tool. From capturing vacation ephemera, to making a banner to flower centers. You’re sure to find endless ways of using it!

Any good scrapbooker knows that when we come home from vacation we have tons of photos and almost as many vacation guides, maps and pamphlets. The Epiphany Crafts tool is a great way to use bits and pieces from all this memorabilia on our scrapbook pages and create unique embellishments.

Beach Layout by Designer Kelly Jo Massicotte

This scrapbook page contains photos from the first time we took our kids to our favorite beach on Cape Cod. The beach has always been a place to relax, renew and rejuvenate. With those words as embellishments, I went through my stack of vacation guides to look for small pics that best represented those feelings. And let’s face it, the professional photos in those vacation guides are taken with the best cameras, in the best locations at the best time of day. I’d be foolish not to take advantage and turn them into custom Epiphany Crafts epoxy embellishments.

Faux Soldered Canvases by Designer Jennifer Priest

I created this trio of canvases as an accent in my bathroom. I recently learned how to create soldered jewelry for the very first time and I love the look but I don’t have all the supplies at home to create pieces for myself. I knew the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 tools would be perfect for me to create my own faux soldered “glass” charms and it would be much easier than working with real glass. With real glass, adhesive has to be limited because the intense heat from the soldering iron will make it bubble and burn, damaging the image under the glass. With the Epiphany Crafts shape tool I could add stickers and small bits of ephemera, like a tiny dictionary paper diecut, without fear of them burning. I layered the stickers onto the paper while it was in the “view-finder” area of the Epiphany Crafts Shape Studio, placed the Bubble Cap on top and created the epoxy shapes.

Then I rolled the edges of the Round 25 shapes in Pigment ink and then rolled them in embossing powder. I set them with a heat tool, holding the Round 25 shape with a pair of pliers to avoid burning my fingers. The result is very much like a soldered glass jewelry piece!! I added these to some canvases I had decoupaged with dictionary paper to create a totally custom accent for the wall in my bathroom. Who knew that we could “solder” with some basic scrap supplies and the Epiphany Crafts Round 25 tool?

This week’s been a bit of a dream!!

How can you not love combining Epiphany Crafts and Pink Paislee?!

This was created this for a work friend who had a destination wedding and will be presented in a frame to be used for Home Decor. The papers in this line were just perfect for a tropical wedding page!

I chose the scallop circle 25 bubble caps to echo the feel of shells and tucked them into the collage diecut elements. Loved that I could create a “Sand Castle Dream” title from the collection elements!!!

Designer’s Note: Coat a Vintage Setting in EmbossGloss and sprinkle with copper embossing powder, setting with a heat gun. Heating the Vintage Setting darkens it and the embossing powder gives it a metallic sheen. Use scraps to make embellishments in various shapes using the EC Shape Studios, tucking under flowers and diecuts to add additional “shine” to the book cover. Lightly spray the cover with Smooch Spritz and wipe from the EC shapes — the Smooch Spritz will dry on the shapes but if that is not desired, they can be wiped clean before drying.
