Maya Road Mini Album
Maya Road Flowers
Papers, Die-cuts, Brads: Studio Calico Heyday Collection

I had the opportunity to work with this fabulous, three-ring, Maya Road mini album, which I dedicated to my upcoming birthday/anniversary trip.

I embellished the cover with Maya Road flowers, die-cuts, and Epiphany Crafts vintage settings.

I wanted the fresh, bright and festive feel to carry over to the inside pages, so I started page one with an Epiphany Crafts banner. I didn’t want the individual banner pieces to be attached to the page, so I discovered this way to string them:

user posted image

First, gather together your supplies: the banner tool and bubble caps, a tiny hole punch (this one is by Martha Stewart Crafts), paper, thread and a needle.

user posted image

Create your banner piece using your paper, the tool and a bubble cap.

user posted image

Next, punch two holes in the corners of the banner piece. Tips: Don’t squeeze too hard with your hole punch or you risk indenting the bubble cap around the hole with the shape of your punch. Wiggle the banner gently to remove it from the punch. Don’t punch too closely to the edge or the bubble cap may crack. If you don’t have a tiny hole punch, a thick needle will work – just poke the hole over a self-healing mat and give it a good dose of elbow grease.

user posted image

Next, thread your needle and tie a bow at the end of your string. Begin threading your banner pieces on and finish with a bow at the opposite end.

user posted image

Adhere to your project with strong glue behind the bows.

After our trip I will fill these pages, as well as inserts that I have set aside, with instagram photos and memorabilia. Watch my blog for the completed album.

Epiphany Crafts Used:
Epiphany Crafts Round 14 tool
Epiphany Crafts Round 14 bubble caps
Epiphany Crafts Round 14 silver setting

Other supplies:
Tombow Mono Vellum Adhesive
Scrapbook Circle August kit
Rhinestone Stickers: Jolee’s
Glitter: Pink Paislee

Inspired by the Epiphany Crafts silver setting that I used as my main embellishment, I decided that I wanted to add a bit of shine to my page with silver glitter. I used the Tombow Mono Vellum adhesive runner to stick my sparkles. The clear property of this particular adhesive was great for this application because I couldn’t see the glue in the spots that I didn’t add as much glitter to – just the look I was going for!

I love the way the sparkle from the silver glitter shines like the silver setting. Scattered rhinestones and more round bubble caps finish it off.

Spooky Pins Come to Life & More!

If you take a moment or two (or ten) to browse Pinterest…you will find an amazing mix of pins. Tropical destinations, delicious drinks, craft projects, heartthrobs, books to read, hairstyles to try…and the pins go on and on.

What’s truly unique is what we each take away with us from the experience.

The proof is right here. We sent the team off to Pinterest to find an image that inspired them and that they would work off to create this week’s Epiphany Crafts project.

Once again…we’re amazed at their creativity…

Spooky Framed Art by Amanda Coleman

A while ago, I pinned this image of a handmade leather purse (unfortunately no longer available on Etsy). I liked the simplicity and the depth of the color, and I can’t resist trees and scenery. While I am not about to make a leather purse, I had hoped to make some kind of paper craft reminiscent of this image.

Using watercolors, I painted a 5″x7″ piece of watercolor paper using various shades of blue. The moon is made with EC Shape Studio Tool Round 25 and matching bubble cap. I added die cut a silhouette of a tree and the piece was finished!
