Thank You Card Is a Score!

As we mentioned this week we have a bit of this and that along with it marking the final week for several of our team!

Today’s project is from Designer Amanda Jones! (was it just us who everytime we thought of Amanda Jones being from the UK that we thought of “Bridget Jones” and then of course smiled!lol)

We’d like to say another special thank you to Amanda for all of  her amazing projects and images of her projects (she has a great talent!) she has shared with us over say over these past  6 months.

This card is another one of her amazing projects…notice how she used our EC Star Tool to make the perfect embellishment for this card

Thanks again Amanda…we wish you all the best!

Hello Card by Ginny Hughes

Epiphany Crafts Products:
SST-41 EC Shape Studio Star 25
SSA-43 EC Bubble Caps Clear Star 25

other products used-
chipboard-Maya Road
embossing powder-American Crafts Zing
paper-Studio Calico
stamp-Studio Calico
tape-Smash
cardstock-American Crafts

I used embossing powder on the Maya Road chipboard shapes.

I found I got the best coverage if I pressed the chipboard on the Versafine pad, not the other way around. Press hard to make sure you get the whole thing covered really well.

user posted image

Then I sprinkled the embossing powder on the shape. I always do that on top of a sheet of paper, that way it is super easy to slide the unused powder back into the container.

When using a heat tool on a smaller shape it is best to point it straight down or else your shape will get blown all over the place! It takes a little trial and error, but easy to get the hang of it.

Summer Swim Mini Album by Tessa Buys

My boys finally took to the water this summer, so I decided to document their aquatic adventures in a mini album. I created a 4×6 album from chipboard, then used the Splash line to cover pages, create die-cut pages, and embellish. The Epiphany Crafts flower tool reminds me of a starfish, so it was my go-to shape for the theme of this album.

Butterfly Frame by Amanda Jones

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:

Epiphany Crafts Pennant and Flower Button tools and bubble caps

Other Supplies:
Tombow adhesives
Vellum, cardstock, white ribbon and mists.

user posted image

I gathered a frame, white cardstock to fit inside, a sheet of white-on-white striped vellum and my Tombow adhesives. I also grabbed 3 glimmer mists – you could substitute these for any inks, stains or mists.

user posted image

I coloured my vellum by spritzing with mists and blended the colour gently with a paper towel. I then punched out several butterfly shapes from the vellum. Spritzing the vellum with mists curles the vellum and gives the buterflies a nice amount of dimension.

user posted image

I mounted the white card inside the frame, and usig the Tombow vellum runner I adhered a group of butterflies in the bottom right corner of the frame.

user posted image

user posted image

Using leftover pieces of vellum I created 3 banner pieces and a flower button using my Epiphany Crafts tools and bubble caps.

user posted image

user posted image

I then adhered a strip of white seam binding to the top left corner of the frame and added a bow on top.

user posted image

Finally I topped the centre of the bow with the button I had created and added my banner pieces below the ribbon.

I took my inspiration from this photo of buttons decorated with vintage images.

I decided to make some vintage buttons of my own with the EC flower button tool and round button tool. I used vintage book paper and pictures from the back of old playing cards to create my buttons.

Other Supplies:
Helmar permanent tape runner
Helmar 1/4″ Zapdots
Sentiment sticker – SRM Stickers
Bazzill Cardstock
Crate Paper patterned paper
Studio Calico Mr Huey mist
Other: White muslin and fabric flower

Instructions:

user posted image

I sprayed a strip of muslin with yellow mist and dried it using a heat gun.

user posted image

Using the Helmar permanent tape runner I added adhesive across the centre of the card.

user posted image

The adhesive is strong enough to be able to create a ruffle across the card – I was amazed at how well it held the fabric in place!

user posted image

I used zapdots to attach a strip of cardstock above the fabric and give it dimension.

user posted image

I used the glue runner to attach fabric fowers and the vintage setting to the card.

user posted image

Using the EC shape tool I created the centre for my vintage setting.

user posted image

Again – the glue runner held all of this together and it really won’t budge! Fabric… to plastic… with a glue runner? Wow

user posted image

I topped the card off with a birthday sentiment from SRM Stickers.
