Do you remember the excitement of opening the mailbox and seeing a card waiting for you?
Even better and handmade card that you know was personally made for you?
With the digital age we’ve moved into it’s become the norm to text or email a greeting and less and less to mail one. Given this writer fancies herself a bit of a romantic, we’d like to challenge you to mail a card to someone this week.
Perhaps for a birthday, anniversary, get well wishes or gasp…yes just to say a “hello”!
All week long we’ll be sharing ideas and inspiration for you to use as your jumping off point for creating those cards and of course no card would be complete without a bit of Epiphany Crafts on it!
Thank You Card by Designer Aly Dosdall
Epiphany Crafts Supplies:
Shape Studio Tool Round 14 + bubble cap
Frayed Felt Flower Marina
Other supplies:
Kraft card base, patterned paper (Neapolitan Bean Bisque line), corrugated paper, wooden flag, twine, and decorative pins: Jillibean Soup
1) I pulled off the bottom layer of the felt flower to scale it down so it fit better on the card. I saved the bottom layer for use on another project.
2) I used the Shape Studio Tool Round 14 as a circle punch (sans bubble caps) to create a faux scallop border by lining up several punched circles next to each other and covering the bottom halves of them with the corrugated paper strip.

Tag, Glassine Bag, String: The Kraft Outlet

Instructions:
1. Cover the front of a card base with two layers of patterned papers.
* NOTE: Edge all papers with brown ink.
2. Add three strips of contrasting papers to the card and machine stitch around all the edges.
3. Adhere a glassine bag to the center of the card. Cover a tag with strips of washi tape, and tuck tag into the bag.
4. Fussy cut the mason jar and sentiment banner from patterned paper. Tie trims around the top of the jar and adhere the sentiment banner to the bow. Stamp main sentiment on the jar using black ink. Adhere the jar to the glassine bag.
5. Create Bubble Cap embellishments using the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio Tool and Round 14 Bubble Caps. If you haven’t used this tool before, you’ll love how easy it is to create your own custom embellishments.
Simply insert paper into the opening, and add the Bubble Cap into the top opening.
Put the adapter piece in place, close the lid, and press down. Viola!
6. Cut a banner from patterned paper and adhere to the bottom of the mason jar. Attach Bubble Caps using adhesive squares across the banner, and one final Bubble Cap to the center of the bow.
A Warm Hello Card by Designer Kelly Jo Massicotte
Once you start working with the Epiphany Crafts tools, you will start to look at things and imagine what they will look like with a custom epoxy on them. That is exactly what happened with I saw this paper from Little Yellow Bicycle’s ‘Saturdays’ collection. Just look at all those little circles waiting to be punched!
This card is simple to keep the focus on the sentiment and beautiful papers. (You have to touch them, they feel like linen and are so fun to distress.) The Epiphany Crafts round epoxy was the perfect center for the die cut flower. I have lots of circles left on that paper and know a layout matching this card it coming soon!
