We’re Celebrating a Week of Cards!

Do you remember the excitement of opening the mailbox and seeing a card waiting for you?

Even better and handmade card that you know was personally made for you?

With the digital age we’ve moved into it’s become the norm to text or email a greeting and less and less to mail one. Given this writer fancies herself a bit of a romantic, we’d like to challenge you to mail a card to someone this week.

Perhaps for a birthday, anniversary, get well wishes or gasp…yes just to say a “hello”!

All week long we’ll be sharing ideas and inspiration for you to use as your jumping off point for creating those cards and of course no card would be complete without a bit of Epiphany Crafts on it!

Thank You Card by Designer Aly Dosdall

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:

Shape Studio Tool Round 14 + bubble cap
Frayed Felt Flower Marina

Other supplies:

Kraft card base, patterned paper (Neapolitan Bean Bisque line), corrugated paper, wooden flag, twine, and decorative pins: Jillibean Soup

Designer tips:

1) I pulled off the bottom layer of the felt flower to scale it down so it fit better on the card. I saved the bottom layer for use on another project.

2) I used the Shape Studio Tool Round 14 as a circle punch (sans bubble caps) to create a faux scallop border by lining up several punched circles next to each other and covering the bottom halves of them with the corrugated paper strip.

Each and Every Year Card by Designer Audrey Pettit

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:
Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio Tool and Round 14 Bubble Caps

Other Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Crate Paper, My Mind’s Eye, and American Crafts
Tag, Glassine Bag, String: The Kraft Outlet
Stamps: Stampin’Up
Washi Tape: Studio Calico
Ink: Clearsnap
Trim: May Arts
Spray Ink: Tattered Angels
Glue Arts High Tac Adhesive and Extreme Adhesive Squares

Instructions:

1. Cover the front of a card base with two layers of patterned papers.
* NOTE: Edge all papers with brown ink.

2. Add three strips of contrasting papers to the card and machine stitch around all the edges.

3. Adhere a glassine bag to the center of the card. Cover a tag with strips of washi tape, and tuck tag into the bag.

4. Fussy cut the mason jar and sentiment banner from patterned paper. Tie trims around the top of the jar and adhere the sentiment banner to the bow. Stamp main sentiment on the jar using black ink. Adhere the jar to the glassine bag.

5. Create Bubble Cap embellishments using the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio Tool and Round 14 Bubble Caps. If you haven’t used this tool before, you’ll love how easy it is to create your own custom embellishments.

Simply insert paper into the opening, and add the Bubble Cap into the top opening.

Put the adapter piece in place, close the lid, and press down. Viola!

6. Cut a banner from patterned paper and adhere to the bottom of the mason jar. Attach Bubble Caps using adhesive squares across the banner, and one final Bubble Cap to the center of the bow.

A Warm Hello Card by Designer Kelly Jo Massicotte

Once you start working with the Epiphany Crafts tools, you will start to look at things and imagine what they will look like with a custom epoxy on them. That is exactly what happened with I saw this paper from Little Yellow Bicycle’s ‘Saturdays’ collection. Just look at all those little circles waiting to be punched!

This card is simple to keep the focus on the sentiment and beautiful papers. (You have to touch them, they feel like linen and are so fun to distress.) The Epiphany Crafts round epoxy was the perfect center for the die cut flower. I have lots of circles left on that paper and know a layout matching this card it coming soon!

Just One is Never Enough Layout by Designer Aly Dosdall

Epiphany Crafts Supplies:
Shape Studio Tool Round 14 with bubble caps
Frayed Felt Flower setting (I pulled off the top layer)

Other supplies:
Color core cardstock: Core’dinations
Patterned paper: We R Memory Keepers (Love Struck)
Chipboard alpha stickers: American Crafts
Alpha stickers: American Crafts
Ribbon: My Mind’s Eye
Felt flower: Making Memories
Frayed felt flower: Epiphany Crafts
Bottle cap: We R Memory Keepers (Love Struck)
Felt butterfly accent: Sassafrass
Sew Easy tool: We R Memory Keepers
Embroidery floss: DMC
Felt tip pen: Sharpie

Designer Tip: to create the journaling spot I used a “rubbing” technique, placing a chipboard heart under the color core cardstock and sanding the area where the heart was. I then placed the chipboard heart over the sanded area and lightly traced it with a pencil. Then I pierced holes using my sew easy tool following the traced heart shape (you could also use a paper piercer or needle to pierce holes). Then I hand stitched around the heart with embroidery floss.

4. Create 3 button embellishments using the Epiphany Crafts Button Heart 20 Studio Tool and Button Heart Caps. Tie one with a hang tag string bow and adhere to the cardstock sticker.

Patterned Paper by Bo Bunny Press, Cosmo Cricket, October Afternoon

Faux Pumpkins by Michael’s Crafts Stores, Dollar Tree, Target Stores
Darice Googly Eyes
Dollar Tree Faux Black Netting
Martha Stewart Starburst Punch
Bombay Company Candlesticks
Parylite Candles
Crate & Barrel Round Placemats

Designer Note:
I created this centerpiece for my dining room table using faux pumpkins purchased at Dollar Tree, the $1 bin at Target and two from Michael’s on sale. I embellished them with buttons, charms, and Vintage Settings created with Epiphany Crafts Shape and Button Studios and scraps of paper. This entire centerpiece cost under $20!! I repurposed some household decor items to add to the look and those were not included in the cost.

Instructions:

Apply Design Adhesives and glitter to the two largest pumpkins for a design element. Then spray the tops of the medium pumpkins with Smooch Spritz spray ink and allow it to drip.

Next, layer ribbons, tulle, and trims to make bows to adorn the tops of the pumpkins.  Add stick pins with decorative tape flags and starburst circle shapes.

Stamp bats and eyeballs onto scraps of paper and made them into epoxy embellishments using the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio and coordinating Bubble Caps. Then created buttons from Orange patterned paper scraps using the Epiphany Crafts Round 20 Buttons Studio and coordinating Buttons. Mount the epoxies to the tops of the buttons for a dimensional embellishments to add to the flags and stick pins I stuck in the tops of some of the pumpkins.

I created two eyeball charms using the Epiphany Crafts Charm Settings and the eyeballs I created with the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio. I attached these to the pumpkins using jump rings.

I then created black and white Buttons and Shapes using the Epiphany Crafts Round 14 Shape Studio and Round 20 Button Studio and added them in clusters to the large white pumpkin. I then stamped bats onto patterned paper and created Square 25 Epoxies using the Epiphany Crafts Square 25 Shape Studio. I aligned the bats so they would be diagonal in the square, creating a diamond, and then mounted these to the white pumpkin as well.

I added several Cabana Vintage Settings by Epiphany Crafts to the pumpkins, adding googly eyes to the centers.

Place three round placemats along the center of the table and spread a piece of black spooky netting over top. Add candlesticks from my bookcase and then arranged the decorated pumpkins among the candlesticks. Fill in any in the gaps with mini pumpkins for a beautiful table top decoration!
